CAMRA – The Campaign For Real Ale
Here at The Horseshoe we are committed to supporting CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, which is why we have 7 ever changing real ales on tap!
Due to our commitment to CAMRA we have featured in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for the last 5 years, and we have now been awarded the prestigious CAMRA (Bristol and District) Pub Of The Year for 2024!
The CAMRA Bristol and District covers Bristol, Somerset and South Gloucestershire, so this is a massive achievement for the whole of the team at The Horseshoe, and it’s certainly something we are incredibly proud to have been awarded.
As the CAMRA (Bristol and District) Pub Of The Year winner, we are now a finalist in the South West Pub Of The Year, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank CAMRA for their continued support, and wish all of the other pubs in the running for the South West Pub Of The Year good luck!
Since being awarded the CAMRA (Bristol and District) Pub Of The Year, it’s safe to say we’ve received a fair bit of media coverage.
Just take a look at the pictures of our landlord, Matt!
The ITV West Country news dropped in to talk about the pub and the CAMRA award, with the piece shown on TV on Thursday 16th May!!
ITV also produced an excellent write-up, which can be viewed by clicking here.
The coverage we have received has been fantastic, and it has given us a platform to talk about The Horseshoe and our support of CAMRA too.
So what’s next we hear you cry?
Hollywood have been calling non-stop, but you’ll all be pleased to hear that Matt has turned down a couple of movie scripts, so he’ll be at The Horseshoe ready to welcome you, and pull some of our award winning pints!
After being excluded in 2025 from Pub of the Year, due to winning in 2024, we were Runner Up of Pub of the Year 2026!
It’s a wonderful achievement by the team and validation of our continued commitment to quality.

Hawkstone
Our relationship with Hawkstone brewery is a great one. We love to support local breweries that, in turn, support British farmers and businesses.
In July 2025, Hawkstone awarded The Horseshoe as a Centurian, meaning we sold over 100 hectolitres in a year (just under 17600 pints). It’s thanks to our amazing patrons that we recieved this award.
As a thanks, we support our customers with Hawkstone events, tours and many more.
The Horseshoe were also grateful to recieve a British grown Christmas Tree in December 2025 from Kaleb Cooper (Clarksons Farm).
